We are a volunteer organization that stands, rides, and holds the flag line to honor military members, veterans, and first responders.
"Standing for those who stood for us"
Family first, always. We ride only at the family’s invitation.
We coordinate dignified missions with families, funeral homes, cemeteries, military representatives, and law enforcement. We show up when invited, hold the line with dignity, and let the family’s wishes guide every mission.
Serving the following
California Counties
Our missions may continue beyond the counties shown here. If the requested starting location, whether a family home, funeral home, church, cemetery, or another gathering place, is within one of these counties, we coordinate the mission. This includes missions traveling to Sacramento Valley National Cemetery or San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
If your requested starting location is outside our area, or you are unsure whom to contact, please reach out. We’ll help connect you with the appropriate Patriot Guard Riders representative in California or another state.
The support PGR provides depends on what a family requests. It may include:
Standing flag lines, providing escorts, and supporting final honors for veterans.
Honoring active-duty service members at funerals and memorial services alongside military honors.
Standing in honor as fallen or recovered service members are returned to their families and communities.
Honoring law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders at requested services.
Help on the Homefront missions support active-duty service members, veterans, Gold Star families, and their loved ones through projects, send-offs, welcome homes, and support events.
Participating in invited dedications, memorials, parades, and veteran or first-responder events.
How we support a family, from the first request to the completion of our invited role.
The Patriot Guard Riders provides invited flag lines, escorts, and other support in coordination with authorized military, cemetery, and funeral personnel. We are not a Military Honor Guard and do not perform military honors.
A family member or authorized representative contacts PGR to request support.
We confirm the starting location, service details, contacts, and the support you have requested.
We assign a Ride Captain to coordinate our supporting role and be your main point of contact.
We announce the mission to PGR volunteers across the region, who are invited to attend.
PGR volunteers gather for the Ride Captain’s briefing, then form the flag line, escort, or other support requested.
Once PGR’s part is done, the Ride Captain brings the mission to a respectful close.
Messages from the families we have been honored to serve.
